license-plate3     The Pennsylvania Story is a modern retelling of the Biblical birth of Jesus Christ in musical format, and features 10 original acoustic-driven rock songs suitable for performance in any setting where contemporary Christian music is played.

The action, which takes place in the real American cities of Nazareth and Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, focuses on three primary groups of characters – Joe and Mary Carter, the Shepherd Family, and three professors of Astrophysics – whose lives intertwine unexpectedly on a historic snow-filled morning in late December.

Originally performed by members of the First Christian Church of Mattoon, Illinois in 2005, The Pennsylvania Story is being made available to churches and community theater groups free of charge for the 2009 Christmas season.  Given this arrangement (performance rights and script purchases for a full-length, 2-Act musical often run in excess of $2000), all that we ask is that you, in turn, do not profit financially when you share the message, and that you keep us updated during the rehearsal and performance process.

This website has been designed to operate as a locus of information for parties interested in putting on this engrossing and entertaining piece of outreach ministry, and will hopefully help answer some of your initial questions.  To get started exploring The Pennsylvania Story, simply click on one of the tabs on the right – which feature links to downloadable copies of the script, the songs, and musical chord charts.
